2021 Welcoming Event for Students

On Wednesday June 9 from 11:00 am to 4:45 pm (ET), the Canada School of Public Service is hosting a virtual welcome event for 2021 students in the public service.

“As students, you contribute to the renewal and success of the federal government. With your curiosity, innovative ideas and learned experiences, you are assets to our organizations.

Join the Canada School of Public Service and the Federal Youth Network for a full day of learning and networking activities as part of the 2021 Welcoming Event for Students. This is your opportunity to mark your arrival and acquire the tools you need to make this experience a success.

After registering for the event, you will receive a link to vExpo, the School’s in-house virtual event platform, where you can participate in workshops and presentations, visit kiosks and network.”

New network for Asian public servants to launch on May 26

A new network for Asian public servants called the Network of Asian Federal Employees (NAFE) will launch at a virtual event on Wednesday May 26 to wrap up Asian Heritage Month.

The virtual event takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (EDT) and will include a panel discussion that will recognize the challenges and celebrate the contributions of federal Asian public servants.

The panel list includes:

  • Gina Wilson, Deputy Minister of Diversity, Inclusion and Youth / Senior Associate Deputy Minister at Heritage / Champion for Indigenous public servants;
  • Daniel Quan-Watson, Deputy Minister at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs; and,
  • Anil Arora, Chief Statistician at Statistics Canada.

Dr. Theresa Tam, Chief Public Health Officer of Canada will also make remarks in a pre-recorded video.
